The on-air shakeup at Today continues, with yet another star set to depart the breakfast TV show.
Reporter Tim Gilbert, who has been co-hosting the Channel Nine program this week, has announced he’s leaving Today at the end of the week.
“What a beautiful bunch you all are. Just confirming Friday will be my last day on @thetodayshow,” he wrote on Twitter.

“We are going to have a blast for the rest of the week like we have for the last five years it will be nice to unplug the alarm for a while,” the 51-year-old wrote.
Tim has been with Channel Nine since 1996, and with Today for the last half decade.
Fellow Nine colleagues wished him well after he made the announcement, with David Campbell writing: “Mate you are a true gent. Sorry to not have said farewell in person. All the best to you Jos, and the kids. DC”.
“Tim you are a treasure,” commented Deborah Knight, who has replaced Karl Stefanovic as Today co-host.
On Saturday, Deborah’s new role was confirmed. She’ll be co-hosting Today alongside current host Georgie Gardner, while Tom Steinfort replaces Sylvia Jeffreys as newsreader.
The new hosting team will kick off their duties from January 14, and the TV network couldn’t be more confident about the on-air shakeup.
“Georgie Gardner, Deb Knight and Tom Steinfort will spearhead an energised and exciting TODAY Show in 2019,” said Darren Wick, Nine’s Director of News and Current Affairs.
“We’ve brought together a team from within the Nine family who are already well-known, trusted and liked by Australian viewers.”
Further changes at the network include previously announced new appointment, Brooke Boney as entertainment reporter, while Weekend Today will see David Campbell host alongside Allison Langdon, Jayne Azzopardi and Clint Stanaway.
As for Today Extra, which airs straight after the brekkie show, David Campbell will continue hosting with Sonia Kruger for three days a week, while Richard Wilkinson will join Sonia on Thursdays and Fridays.
