Timothée Chalamet Channeled Bob Dylan With a Blonde Hair Transformation on the Red Carpet
He's truly unrecognizable.
Method dressing is, indeed, still alive and well. Just look at Timothée Chalamet, who took the red carpet trend to the extreme while debuting a major hair transformation at the New York premiere of his Bob Dylan biopic, A Complete Unknown, on Friday.
At the event, Chalamet looked completely unrecognizable with a bleach-blonde dye job, swapping his signature brunette curls for flaxen-colored 'do complete with swooped bangs that peeked out from underneath his blue beanie.
He paired his new look with a thin mustache and goatee, and wore a blue-and-red flannel shirt beneath an oversized black leather coat with a gray checkered scarf loosely tied around his neck. A pair of black jeans, matching leather gloves, and chunky boots provided the finishing touches to his outfit.
From his freshly-dyed blonde locks to his rugged winter clothes, it became clear that Chalamet was channeling Bob Dylan at the 2003 Sundance Film Festival, where the music legend was promoting his film Masked and Anonymous while sporting a nearly-identical hairstyle and outfit.
Chalamet plays a young Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown, which follows the singer as he moves from Minnesota to the Big Apple and the controversy around his use of electric instruments.
Ahead of the premiere, Chalamet opened up how committed he was to the role of Dylan. “It was something I would go to sleep panicked about: losing a moment of discovery as the character—no matter how pretentious that sounds — because I was on my phone or because of any distraction,” he said, per Deadline. “I had three months of my life to play Bob Dylan, after five years of preparing to play him. So while I was in it, that was my eternal focus. He deserved that and then more.… God forbid I missed a step because I was being Timmy. I could be Timmy for the rest of my life!”
