McGraw sparked mixed reactions when he seemingly expressed his support for Kamala Harris in an Instagram birthday tribute to his wife, Faith Hill, on Saturday, Sept. 21.
"Happy birthday to this remarkable woman! My beautiful, strong, crazy, bad--s wife!!!!" McGraw, 57, wrote. "I love my girl with everything that I am and could ever hope to be! She is our beacon, our rock, our strength. The girls and I are so very blessed!"
"Our girls could not have a better role model in their lives as how to be an incredibly strong woman," McGraw continued. "And how to believe in themselves and be in charge of their lives (every aspect of their lives)! Let's honor the women in our lives with respect and make sure that we fight for their rights right alongside them!"
Several weeks later, McGraw seemingly addressed the division among his fans when he shared the video for his new song "People Like Us" on Instagram on Oct. 11.
"It’s a celebration of our shared journey through life," he wrote in his caption. "We all have unique paths, but at our core, we’re connected by the same hopes, dreams, and challenges that make us human."
"For me, this song is about seeing ourselves in others—recognizing our common experiences of joy, pain, triumph, and struggle," McGraw continued. "My hope is that when you listen, you’ll feel that connection and be reminded of the beauty in our shared humanity. Music has a way of touching our hearts and bringing us together. Let’s keep lifting each other up and moving forward as one human family."
McGraw and Hill's daughter Gracie McGraw, 27, revealed her own political leanings in an Instagram Story posted Thursday, Oct. 24.
"PLEASE VOTE BLUE IN NOVEMBER FOR KAMALA HARRIS," she wrote, adding, "F--k Donald Trump."
