Tiger King star John Finlay unrecognisable in new bonus episode

Tiger King star John Finlay, ex-husband of Joe Exotic (he's since claimed they were never legally married), has revealed a totally new look in a new bonus episode of the docuseries.

John, who was made famous in the documentary, shocked fans after undergoing a complete transformation, with many saying he looked unrecognisable.

The bonus episode was hosted by Joel McHale, who interviewed many of the participants of the docuseries (sadly, Carole Baskin did not take part) to find out how their lives had changed since Tiger King was released on Netflix.

Viewers were shocked to see John Finlay onscreen looking nothing like he did in the series. Instead, he had a full set of teeth, a beard, some glasses and this time he even managed to wear a shirt.

One fan wrote, "There is no way both of these pics are of John Finlay."

Someone else said, "John Finlay’s transformation was unbelievable on the finishing episode of #TigerKing... Didn’t even know who he was initially."

Another added, "And the Winner of the Best Glow Up for 2020 is Joe Exotic’s ex John Finlay."

John left Joe Exotic for a woman and fellow employee at G.W. Zoo, they had a child together, but have since broken up. John is now engaged to another woman.

Speaking to Variety recently, John revealed that the procedure to get his new teeth was more painful than the tattoos.

He explained that he was interviewed at least five times for the show, but, understandably, people tend to focus on that shirtless scene.

"Throughout the show, a lot of people focused on the one scene of me being shirtless. There were quite a few scenes throughout the whole thing where I had a shirt on. They suggested that I show [the tattoos] off. They kind of made it feel like I was the sexy one of the whole thing," he said.

John revealed his top three picks on who he'd like to play him in Tiger King movie, saying, "Channing Tatum is still No. 1, Shia LaBeouf is No. 2 and Tom Hardy is No. 3," adding his advice would be, "It’s pretty much just be yourself, don’t hold back, have fun."

He also said that he wished the show had shown more of the more positive side of the story, "I’d show more of the positive. They never showed that we helped quite a few people with their last, dying wishes to be able to pet a tiger, pet a bear, pet a wolf.

"That gave me a different outlook on life, why a lot of people do what they do before they go and where I needed to be."

He also told the publication that he has aspirations to be a motivational speaker, saying his message would be: "Anybody can change their life for the better. We can all have better lives if we just apply ourselves to it and have a positive attitude.

"Nothing is written in stone, 'You have to be this way or you have to be that way.' We can all change our own lives of how everything should be."
