Netflix's Tiger King has been a fan-favourite worldwide and it looks like we'll be getting a new spin-off that focuses on the biggest mystery of the whole show – what happened to Carole Baskin's husband Don Lewis?

A new limited series by Investigation Discovery (ID) titled Investigating the Strange World of Joe Exotic will look into Don Lewis' mysterious disappearance in 1997.

Don's disappearance is still an open case in Florida and while Carole has denied any involvement, many fans of Tiger King believe she killed him and fed him to her tigers. Joe Exotic made it very clear that he believes she was involved in whatever happened to Don.

Carole has previously spoken out about the Netflix docuseries, calling it "salacious and sensational" on her blog.

She added that she thought the series would be similar to Blackfish, which exposed abuse at SeaWorld, "There are not words for how disappointing it is to see that the series not only does not do any of that, but has had the sole goal of being as salacious and sensational as possible to draw viewers.

"As part of that, it has a segment devoted to suggesting, with lies and innuendos from people who are not credible, that I had a role in the disappearance of my husband Don in 1997.

"The series presents this without any regard for the truth or in most cases even giving me an opportunity before publication to rebut the absurd claims. They did not care about truth. The unsavory lies are better for getting viewers."

ID's Investigating the Strange World of Joe Exotic will try and get as many answers as they can about what happened to Don.

According to Entertainment Weekly, ID said in a statement, "Love her or hate her, Carole is now in the centre ring of the big-cat circus."

"Is she a selfless crusader and protector of animals who found unimaginable strength despite the mysterious disappearance of her husband? Or are we witnessing Carole Baskin’s master plan finally take effect?

"Despite her claims of innocence, did she orchestrate the disappearance of Don Lewis to seize control of his fortune, consolidate power and lay waste to her foes? No one seems to be talking – except for one man — and that man is the centre of ID’s upcoming investigative series."

ID adds that the series will highlight "the investigation you didn’t get to see, revealing the secrets only Joe knows and the exclusive footage that has never been shown."

At this stage there's no premiere date set, but we're hoping it's soon!
