Tiffany Haddish thanks haters for 'making me more famous' over Shakira photobomb criticism
Tiffany Haddish was having a grand old time at the MTV Video Music Awards, hyping up Doja Cat from the audience, hyping up her just released Lil Jon-approved banger "Till the Club Closes," and perhaps most hyped of all, photobombing Shakira.
Some may have thought Haddish was being extra and doing simply too much by violating Shakira's personal photo space, but the Girls Trip star is apparently a firm believer in all press being good press.

In a video posted online, Haddish can be seen and heard (miles away) yelling Shakira's name and sneaking into a selfie the 2023 Video Vanguard Award winner takes with a fan. Press photos of Haddish photobombing Shakira throughout the night also surfaced, including this hilarious portrait with Karol G.

After Haddish's backstage Shakira shenanigans spurred a backlash, the 43-year-old comedian replied to an X (formerly Twitter) thread on Friday, "This soooooo interesting to me. If you feel like I did [too] much, all of y'all better be buying @shakira new album!"
She continued, "This experience has [allowed] me to realize how truly popular I am. I appreciate all of your opinions."
Then on Saturday, Haddish seemingly referenced the criticisms in a separate post to X, writing, "When people make videos about me or talk about me good or bad, I just think, 'Thank you all for making me more famous and relevant.'"
"I see it's driving the enemy crazy cause they really want to be where I am," she added. "It will never happen."
When people make videos about me or talk about me Good or bad. I just think Thank you all for making me more famous and relevant. I see it’s driving the enemy crazy cause they really want to be where I am, It will never happen. 😂😂😂😂😂

Sure, Tiffany Haddish may have been doing too much, but this is the same woman who bravely instigated the great Who Bit Beyoncé? mystery of 2018. Anything less than hunting down a pop icon to yell in her face would have been disappointing and out of character.
