The Voice's G-Nat!on hit back at criticism: 'A lot of disadvantages'
They caused a stir over the weekend when they made it through to the finals of The Voice, with some social media users saying it wasn't a fair playing field to pit a group against a solo singer.
However, G-Nat!on have now hit back at the criticism surrounding their place on Team Rita in the final, saying they believe being part of a group doesn’t give them the upper hand in the competition.
"I guess the purpose of going on that show was really to spread our message across to Australia, and even though we received a lot of criticism, I think that on the other hand of that there are a lot of disadvantages that come with being a group," 17-year-old Rylee told TV Week.

Rylee also said that the group have worked extremely hard to get to where they are and said it is “surreal” they have made it to the finals.
G-Nat!on sang their hearts out on Sunday with a rendition of Ariana Grande’s 7 Rings, while Sian Fuller made everyone tear up with her version of Olivia Rodrigo’s Driver’s License.
Rita decided to bring G-Nat!on through to the grand final, alongside Bella Taylor Smith from Team Guy, Arlo Sim from Team Keith, Mick Harrington from Team Jess.
However, Twitter users were up in arms over her decision, with some saying it wasn't a fair playing field to pit a group against a solo singer.
“Thought it was The Voice not The Voices,” one person said.
“Sian is absolutely incredible. She has such a bright future ahead. Really devastated right now,” another fan of the show wrote.
“Sian sung circles around G-Nation. Never was on board with there being a team of 6. Absolutely robbed,” a clearly irked viewer wrote.
Another person said “Rita made a huge mistake”, while someone else wrote: “Sian was robbed by 6 voices and back up singers.”
However, there was plenty of support for G-Nat!on online with one person writing: “That was so in sync from G Nation - superb performance.”
“Loving the @bridgerton vibes from G Nation … loved it, every little girl’s dream group!” another fan wrote.
Sunday night's grand finale will see Bella Taylor Smith from Team Guy, Arlo Sim from Team Keith, Mick Harrington from Team Jess and G-Nat!on from Team Rita battle it out for the top spot.
The winner is set to take home $100,000 and a recording contract with Universal Music Australia.
