The Masked Singer 'filler' episode lashed by viewers: 'WTF?'

Viewers of The Masked Singer were left disappointed on Sunday night after Grand Finale week kicked off with a filler episode which saw no more celebrities unmasked.

Given that it's a long weekend, and the NRL Grand Final was also on, Channel 10 instead aired a more behind the scenes filler episode The Masked Singer Exposed in the lead up to the final reveals.

But plenty of viewers took to social media afterwards calling the episode 'boring'.

"WTF Masked Singer exposed??? Where's the finals???" one person asked on Twitter.

"What the actual f**k is on now? Thanks for the false advertising," another angry fan wrote.

"Is there singing tonight? Or just behind the scenes," another asked, while a third person called the filler episode "really bad".

The Masked Singer behind the scenes special is an episode that generally airs every season in the lead up to the grand finale, focusing on fan-favourite moments and performances throughout the season.

It also offers up some extra content with the guessing panel doing some snooping to try and find out which stars might be left under the remaining masks.

Only four celebrities remain in the competition battling it out for the title, including Vampire, Mullet, Kebab and Dolly.

Nine celebrities have been revealed so far this year, including Killing Heidi’s lead singer Ella Hooper, singer and model Alli Simpson, Grammy-award winning performer Macy Gray, shock jock Kyle Sandilands, singing powerhouse Mahalia Barnes, football legend Lote Tuqiri, musician and actor Ben Lee, ex-MasterChef judge George Calombaris and former professional football player and actor Vinnie Jones.

The Masked Singer finale continues on Channel 10 tonight at 7:30pm.
