Aussie e-retailer THE ICONIC has celebrated humans of all shapes, sizes, ages, genders, backgrounds and beliefs at its annual summer runway show, aptly titled, “We Are Human”.
A diverse group of 30 models ranging from women’s sizes 6 to 16 and men’s sizes M to XL strutted their stuff in the season’s biggest trends, proudly flaunting their hairy armpits, cellulite, grey locks and dad bods.
Homegrown stars Bree McCann and Bruna Lapinskas sizzled in one-piece swimsuits while Samantha Harris stunned in a bandeau bikini top and silky midi-skirt.
International supermodel Halima Aden, who kicked off the event, made her Aussie catwalk debut sporting modest pieces in keeping with her Muslim faith.
THE ICONIC has pledged to establish a dedicated ‘Modest Edit’ of brands in 2020 as part of their inaugural Annual Progress Report which outlines nine environmental, four ethical sourcing and three community targets for the next five years.
Fans on social media took to the comments sections of several of the online brand’s Instagram posts to share their enthusiasm for the fashionable yet inclusive show.
“Real bodies, real people, real confidence!” wrote one.
“Thank you for promoting real body confidence,” praised another.
“So impressed with your choice of models!” said one.
“That’s what real women look like,” remarked another.
“More models like this on your site please,” requested one.
