The Bachelor Matt Agnew's 'secret girlfriend' revealed

As The Bachelor finale draws near, Matt Agnew’s chances of finding love remain strong—thanks to the bevy of interested women still vying to win his heart.

But now it’s been revealed the astrophysicist’s feelings may lie outside the mansion and instead with a mystery girlfriend he met while studying in Sweden.

The shock revelation comes amid Matt’s otherwise squeaky clean image which has seen no former flames come forward with an axe to grind.

However, an ex-girlfriend could throw a spanner in the works, something sources say The Bachelor is acutely aware of.

“There is so much pressure to be this great guy and he doesn’t want
to disappoint anyone,” an insider told New Idea.

The exes are believed to have met while Matt completed his Master’s at Sweden’s Lund University but the romance ultimately faltered due to distance between their homelands.

“He had to come back to Australia and she had her whole life over there,” the magazine reported.

“Of course, they talked about the what-ifs – but there was so much stacked against them. Applying for The Bachelor was a distraction, really.”

And while feelings between the former flames may still linger, it’s hardly put a damper on Matt’s attempts to move on while on the show.

There are still several women keen to be the last one standing, including frontrunners Helena Sauzier, Abbie Chatfield and down to earth nurse Elly Miles.

However, Melbourne engineer Chelsie McLeod remains the bookies’ favourite due to the pair’s chemistry, similar career paths and shared hometown.
