We’re only two episodes into the new season of The Bachelor Australia but fans have already spotted an awkward wardrobe fail, involving leading man Matt Agnew.

The strapping astrophysicist sported a snappy velvet jacket for Thursdays night’s cocktail party, but it turns out we’ve all seen it many, many times before.

Wardrobe déjà vu

The funny folk running the Instagram account @bachiefunny were quick to recognise the distinctive blazer and called out the show’s wardrobe gaffe online.

They posted a photo showing current Bachie, Matt, wearing the item along with three other Aussie reality TV stars, including previous Bachelor stars Jake Ellis and Blake Coleman and Married At First Sight 2019 contestant, Dino Hira.

“The "I Went On Reality TV & All I Got Was This Jacket" Jacket,” read the sassy caption.

The brotherhood of the travelling jacket

Jake, who appeared on Georgia Love’s season of the Bachelorette and subsequently Bachelor In Paradise, saw the funny side of the fashion blunder, writing, “That jacket haunts me” in the comments.

Dino also piped up, joking, “It is a Best Seller this one!”

In case you’re in the market for a reality TV-approved jacket, this one is the Sorren velvet jacket in burgundy by Aussie menswear brand Politix and retails for $329.

Fans were very impressed with @bachiefunny’s memory, writing, “Omg who even remembers that! Good spotting.”

While one was keen to see the item retired from reality TV rotation, saying: “That jacket needs to go.”

“Gonzo from The Muppets and Patty from Love Island have both rocked this look,” added another.

But that’s not all - cricketer Jason Behrendorff recently wore the jacket to an awards night and way back in 2017 model Kris Smith strutted the Myer runway in it.

Looks like it’s here to stay!
