Tequila Brand's Search for New 'Ugly Dog' Mascot Comes with the Most Heartwarming Bonus
Tequila brand Mango Shotta a new jalapeño mango tequila brand—is dedicating October to honoring dogs of all shapes and sizes. In the true spirit of spooky season and giving back, Mango Shotta is covering the adoption fees for 31 dogs (up to $300 via Venmo) this October in honor of Adopt a Shelter Dog Month.
In addition to that, Mango Shotta is on the lookout for the spiciest-looking mutt to steal the spotlight and become the new face of Mango Shotta. They're calling this search the “Scariest Spokesb*tch” (the spicy edition) or simply the “Scariest Spokedog.”
From the press release: Our current mascot is an "ugly" and some might say spooky skeleton dog named Arturo, and we absolutely love him. Just like our tequila, he’s unconventional and inspired our news. In the true spirit of spooky season and giving back, Mango Shotta is covering the adoption fees for 31 ugly dogs (up to $300 via Venmo) this October in honor of Adopt a Shelter Dog Month. To submit your newly adopted dog, simply submit a receipt and photo of your new pooch at Mango Shotta Spokesdog. It's worth noting that when we say 'ugly,' we really mean perfect and unique in their own way. Every dog is valid for this because no dog is ugly—and that’s the point we want to make.
As far as the Scariest Spokesdog contest, the lucky pup and their owner will receive $20,000, a year’s supply of Mango Shotta, a stash of jalapeño and mango dog toys, and the prestigious title of official mascot. Plus, they’ll enjoy a full year of featured highlights on Mango Shotta’s Instagram account.
To enter the search:
Snap a photo of their remarkably "hideous" dog dressed in a costume (store-bought or DIY—your choice!).
Bonus points if the photo includes the color orange, but it’s not required.
Photos should be submitted to Mango Shotta Spokes Dog now through October 22. The new mascot and their owner will be notified on October 31.
