It looks like Channel 10 has picked it’s Bachelorette for 2020, with an insider letting slip that a current judge for the network will be handing out the roses in 2020.
Former Big Brother contestant Ben Norris told TV Blackbox none other than Dancing With the Star’s Sharna Burgess would be this year’s most eligible lady.
“The contract is dry and she is going to be The Bachelorette,” he said on the weekly podcast.
It should come as no surprise to any fans of the red-haired dancing queen, who is as vibrant online as she is on screen.
Sharna is currently on the dancing show’s judging panel alongside Craig Revel Horwood and Tristan MacManus.
Channel 10 has not confirmed the news and say casting for the series is ongoing.
“We welcome speculation about the identity of the new Bachelorette. We are thrilled that so many talented and accomplished women have expressed interest in appearing on the show. We are in the very early stages of casting and an announcement will be made in the coming months,” a spokesperson told Yahoo Lifestyle in a statement.
No word has yet emerged from the lady herself, though she has earlier opened up about her desire to give the show a go.
The 34-year-old told TV Week a joke comment about appearing on the show lead to Ten actually approaching her about the opportunity.
"Ten were saying to me, 'Are you serious about this? Would you want to do it? Let's have a conversation,'" she says.
"And then I realised this could be a real thing if I wanted it to be."
She told the mag her only hesitation was the levels of drama the show sometimes peaked at overseas, though admitted the Aussie version hadn’t yet hit that level.
Sharna has quite the presence online, with a sassy comment here and a sexy snap there providing her 844k followers with plenty of entertainment.
Looks like we may be sashaying into the rose ceremony this year!
