The premiere episode is written by Scrubs collaborators Lawrence and Tarses, who also executive produce alongside Carell, Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer of Doozer Productions. The series is produced by Doozer in association with Warner Bros. Television, where Lawrence’s Doozer banner and Tarses are under overall deals.

In May, the show received a 10-episode, straight-to-series order from HBO. The half-hour, single-camera project reunites Dunster with Lawrence, who developed the hit Apple TV+ series Ted Lasso which starred Dunster across all three seasons.

Dunster is best known for his portrayal of Jamie Tartt in the highly acclaimed comedy series Ted Lasso, which ran for three seasons on Apple TV+. For his performance, Dunster received an Emmy nomination in 2023 for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. He followed that with a role in the Apple psychological thriller Surface for its sophomore season. Season 2 is expected to premiere in 2025.

His additional TV credits include the Prime Video series The Devil’s Hour, Ten Percent (the British remake of the hit French series Call My Agent), ITV’s The Trouble With Maggie Cole, the HBO miniseries Catherine The Great and Amazon’s Catastrophe.

Dunster recently made his directorial debut with Idiomatic, a short film he also wrote, produced, and stars in alongside Kerry Godliman. The title premiered at this year’s TriBeCa Film Festival and recently was awarded Best Comic Distortions as part of the SCAD Savannah Film Festival Shorts Spotlight. Additional big screen credits include Warner Bros. Pictures drama The Good Liar, Kenneth Branagh’s The Murder on the Orient Express and Judy.

As an ambassador for Young Lives vs Cancer, a UK-based charity that supports families and young people battling cancer, Dunster will host An Evening With Phil Dunster and Friends, a fundraiser for the organization to be held on November 24 at the Victoria Palace Theater in London’s West End.

He is repped by CAA, Brillstein Entertainment Partners, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
