Taylor Swift gives team $197 million in bonuses as Eras Tour wraps up

This is the golden age for Taylor Swift's team, employees and contractors.

The Eras Tour singer gave out $197 million in bonuses, a person familiar with the situation but not authorized to speak publicly confirmed.

According to People Magazine, Swift rewarded her "truck drivers, caterers, instrument techs, merch team, lighting, sound, production staff and assistants, carpenters, dancers, band, security, choreographers, pyrotechnics, riggers, hair, make-up, wardrobe, physical therapists and video team" for their contributions over the past two years.

The bonuses account for 9.4% of the total ticket earnings of her historic tour. Swift sold 10.1 million tickets racking up $2.1 billion.

I spent a year covering the Eras Tour: Here's what it was like.

"This tour has been the adventure of a lifetime," Swift told the final crowd in Vancouver, Canada, on Sunday before performing the 10-minute version of "All Too Well." "I speak on behalf of my band, my crew, my fellow performers, who all left their families and spent time away from everything that they know and love, and have performed when they were sick. When anything was going on in their lives, they made sure that this show happened for you, and I just wanted to say that on behalf of all of us, we will never forget you giving us that moment."

It's not the first time Swift has generously compensated her team. In August 2023, she wrote $100,000 checks and handwritten letters to every truck driver that moved her stage and production around the United States in the first leg of the Eras Tour.

Mike Scherkenbach, the CEO of Shomotion LLC., told USA TODAY last year that Scott Swift surprised his truck drivers in a production meeting.

"Scott gave a short speech and said how much he appreciated the service and what they've done for the tour for the last 24 weeks," Scherkenbach said. "They've been out there nonstop, the men and women that drive for us have been away from their families for 24 weeks."

Before confetti fell to the floor, Swift expressed her immense gratitude to the 60,000 fans packed inside the BC Place Stadium in Vancouver.

“Vancouver, I want to thank every single one of you for being a part of the most thrilling chapter of my entire life to date, my beloved Eras Tour," the singer said.
