Tammy Hembrow was born with two extra fingers
Instagram sensation and model Tammy Hembrow was born with two extra fingers due to a genetic condition.
In a resurfaced video from early last year, the Aussie mum-of-two revealed the fact about herself to her followers in a ’10 things you didn’t know about me’ video.
The 24-year-old explained the two extra fingers had grown on the side of her pinky fingers on both hands.
“They were just like another pinky with the nail and everything but it had no bones in it,” she said in the video.
“So, when I was born I got them chopped off.”
Tammy went on to explain that the condition runs in her family – her grandmother, mum and two of her sisters, Amy and Emilee, were all also born with extra fingers.

Despite being born with 12 fingers, Tammy didn’t find out about it until she was in primary school when someone questioned her about the marks on her pinky fingers, where she had the extra fingers removed.
The model also admitted she didn’t pass the condition down to her two children Wolf, four, and two-year-old Saskia, whom she shares with ex-fiancé Reece Hawkins.

In June last year, Queensland-based Tammy announced she and Reece had decided to go their separate ways.
Reece is now dating 20-year-old London Goheen.
