SZA, 35, Admits Regretting ‘Stupid’ and Unnecessary Cosmetic Procedure: ‘So Mad I Did That’
SZA is sharing how she really feels about the alterations she's had surgically completed on her body, reflecting on how in hindsight, she probably would have decided against it.
The "Snooze" singer recently chatted with British Vogue for a "revealing" interview, opening up about her plastic surgery in an article published on Thursday, Nov. 14.

As the fashion publication's December 2024 cover star, she wore a variety of glamorous ensembles as she posed during the photoshoot, many of which showed off her curvaceous body.
The newly-minted 35-year-old—who celebrated her birthday on Nov. 8—underwent the popular procedure of a Brazilian butt lift (BBL) in early 2022, after being dissatisfied with her fitness results from working out in the gym.
“I’m so mad I did that,” she admitted. The "Good Days" singer went on, providing insight into the after-effects of the procedure. “I gained all this weight from being immobile while recovering and trying to preserve the fat. It was just so stupid."

However, she doesn't seem to harp on the reality that she "didn't need" it, adding, "But who gives a f--k? You got a BBL; you realize you didn’t need the s--t. It doesn’t matter. I’ll do a whole bunch more s--t just like it if I want to before I’m f---ing dead because this body is temporary."
"It just wasn’t super necessary—I have other s--t that I need to work on about myself. I need to get my f---ing mental health together… Not to say you can’t do those things simultaneously, just, for me, I realize wherever you go, there you’ll be," she reflected on her journey thus far.
According to WebMD, a BBL is a "surgery where a doctor transfers fat from your belly, hips, lower back, or thighs to your buttocks." It has become wildly popular in Hollywood over the past several years, with celebrities seeking out the best plastic surgeons to aid in reshaping their figures.
Still, SZA's thoughts on the matter aren't negative. "I love my butt, don’t get me wrong—my booty look nice. And I’m grateful that it looks pretty much… I don’t know, sometimes natural, but I don’t even care. It’s something that I wanted; I’m enjoying it. I love shaking it.”
As for career moves, SZA will soon make her official foray into acting. The soulful songstress stars in One of Them Days alongside Keke Palmer, due to release in 2025.
