Prince William's last day in Cape Town, South Africa, included a contrast of celebration and dissention. As he wrapped up his appointments in Africa for this year's Earthshot Prize ceremony, William was met with some less-than-entusiastic locals as he spotlighted a local organization.

In a video shared yesterday by Sky News, a woman could be seen (and heard) angrily shouting, "William, go home! You have no sovereignty here, you are not our king. Get out of here!"

In addition that particularly vocal protestor, others screamed, "Go home, you're not welcome," according to Hello!, and more demonstrators held up signs reading, "William, you have no sovereignity [sic] in this country."

According to Sky News, one of the reasons that there was so much dissent to William's visit boiled down to a group of local fishermen feeling like they'd been overlooked from an event. Mymoena Poggenpoel, who owns a family fishing operation, told the outlet that "they weren't protesting against the prince, but felt excluded from the event."

William had an appointment with Earthshot Prize finalist Abalobi, which works within the fishing industry. Poggenpoel explained that she and other hecklers felt "snubbed" by not being included in the conversation.

"It wasn't inclusive, that's our concern," she said. "These boats are all maintained by individual fishermen. So, because they wouldn't include us, it's very concerning, you know, that we couldn't welcome the prince the way we wanted to in our traditional manner."

Hello! spoke to another local fisherman, who explained, "William has not come to look at our fish. No one told us the prince was coming. Abalobi don't support us. This is our harbor."
