Breakfast television is a fast-paced beast, and keeping up with the daily pulse is no easy feat.

In between morning news and panel discussions, Sunrise’s Sam Armytage interviewed one of the biggest stars in music this morning, and she’d be forgiven for a small, though somewhat awkward slip-up during her TV chat.

Sam asked Mark if he’d be excited at the prospect of working with Beyonce in the future, not realising he’s already joined forces with Queen Bey back in 2016 at the 2016 Super Bowl Halftime show.

Live from Channel Seven’s Sydney studios in Martin Place, Mark spoke to Sam and her co-host David ‘Kochie’ Koch about how he’s been ‘stalking’ musicians he likes and wants to collaborate with.

“Are you stalking anyone right now?” Sam asked Mark.

“Is there anyone you want to... umm Beyonce or someone? Who do you go to after this?”

Ever the professional, Mark let it slip and didn’t mention his previous work with Beyonce, and rather put the focus on his future plans to support emerging artists.

“I don’t know. I mean I love working with new artists as well, new talent,” he responded.

It’s been quite an interesting past couple of days for Sunrise, after it made headlines for Kochie and Sam’s post-Logies feud with Married At First Sight’s Martha Kalifatidis.

This week former Channel Seven producer Rob McKnight pointed out that Sam had also taken a swipe at rival network, Channel Ten following the Logie Awards, claiming these recent remarks could suggest the program has gone from ‘family show’ to ‘nasty’.
