Summer Hit Incoming: Author Carley Fortune's Bestseller ‘Every Summer After’ Is Heading to TV
Author Carley Fortune announced on Wednesday, July 31, that her novel 'Every Summer After' will be adapted into an Amazon Prime series

On Wednesday, July 31, the author, 39, announced that her first novel Every Summer After will be adapted into an Amazon Prime series.
“For all of my Every Summer After lovers: some very exciting news!,” Fortune wrote in an Instagram post. “I’m wildly excited to announce that I’m going working with Amazon Studios to turn ESA into a series for Amazon Prime."
She added, “This project has been in the making for two years, and I’m so delighted to be able to shout about it.”
Fortune started the novel that would become Every Summer After almost exactly four years ago, in July 2020, and it hit shelves in July 2022.

“I was at the cottage then, and it’s where I am right now. (Actually, I’m in my car at the edge of the bush because I couldn’t get internet to work at the lake!),” she added in her post. “I can’t wait to see Percy and Sam’s love story expand and evolve for the screen.”

Spanning six years, Every Summer After tells the story of the friendship between Sam and Persephone (Percy), who meet as teenagers at Percy’s vacation home in Barry’s Bay, Canada. The pair are separated after Percy moves to the city and reconnect following her return.

"I'm excited to partner with Amazon to take their journey even further — beyond the pages of the book, onto the screen, and into the hearts of audiences across the globe."
