Suits L.A. Casts Arrowverse Vet Matt Letscher as Dad to Stephen Amell

Suits L.A. is staging its own Arrowverse crossover: Matt Letscher (The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow) will guest-star on NBC’s upcoming spinoff as the father of Stephen Amell’s character, our sister site Variety reports.

Premiering Sunday, Feb. 23 at 9/8c, Suits L.A. is set in the world of the original USA Network drama and follows Ted Black (played by Arrow vet Amell), a former federal prosecutor from New York who “has reinvented himself representing the most powerful clients in Los Angeles,” per the official synopsis.

Letscher — who portrayed Eobard Thawne/Reverse-Flash in The CW’s Arrowverse franchise — will play Ted’s dad, who is “powerful, emotionally unavailable [and] rules through fear and intimidation,” reads the official description. “Ted’s father has alienated himself from Ted because of the way he treated Ted’s brother Eddie (guest star Carson A. Egan). Though Ted’s father has committed unforgivable acts, he still wants to have a relationship with Ted, even though Ted wants nothing to do with him.”

Additionally, Maggie Grace (Fear the Walking Dead) will guest-star as Amanda Stevens, a pro bono lawyer who rents space at the Black/Lane law firm and, technically, doesn’t work for Ted, meaning the two are free to “potentially explore the clear sparks between them.”

Finally, Sofia Pernas (Tracker, Blood & Treasure) has been tapped to guest as Elizabeth Smith, a powerhouse attorney in the District Attorney’s office who goes up against Ted in a high-profile murder trial.

Suits L.A.’s series-regular cast includes The Walking Dead alum Josh McDermitt as Stuart Lane, who joined up with his buddy Ted Black to build an L.A. firm; Lex Scott Davis (The L Word: Generation Q) as Erica Rollins, a savvy and strong-willed rising star at the firm; and Bryan Greenberg (One Tree Hill) as Rick Dodsen, Ted Black’s protégé in the entertainment division. As previously reported, original Suits star Gabriel Macht will reprise his role as Harvey Specter in a three-episode arc.
