Featuring fresh herbs and a lot of cheese, this recipe is easy to follow and doesn’t take too long to make. You can serve this dish for your next dinner party or prepare it for an easy weeknight meal. Here’s how to make stuffed shells:
14 ounces Italian sausage
15 ounces ricotta cheese
1/2 cup grated parmesan
1 cup shredded mozzarella
3 garlic cloves, minced
6 chopped basil leaves
24 ounces marinara sauce
12 ounces large cooked pasta shells
Freshly ground black pepper
1. Start by cooking the sausage over medium-high heat and seasoning with salt and pepper.
2. Transfer the cooked sausage to a bowl and stir in ricotta cheese, parmesan, mozzarella, egg, garlic and basil.
3. Spread marinara sauce along the bottom of a rectangular baking dish. Fill each pasta shell to the top with the sausage mixture, and place the stuffed shells side-by-side in the baking dish. Once completely filled, top with more marinara sauce and shredded mozzarella. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. Top with fresh basil leaves.
