  • 14 ounces Italian sausage

  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese

  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella

  • 1 egg

  • 3 garlic cloves, minced

  • 6 chopped basil leaves

  • 24 ounces marinara sauce

  • 12 ounces large cooked pasta shells

  • Salt

  • Freshly ground black pepper

1. Start by cooking the sausage over medium-high heat and seasoning with salt and pepper.

2. Transfer the cooked sausage to a bowl and stir in ricotta cheese, parmesan, mozzarella, egg, garlic and basil.

3. Spread marinara sauce along the bottom of a rectangular baking dish. Fill each pasta shell to the top with the sausage mixture, and place the stuffed shells side-by-side in the baking dish. Once completely filled, top with more marinara sauce and shredded mozzarella. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. Top with fresh basil leaves.
