Dragon's Den star Sara Davies has become the latest celebrity to be voted out of Strictly Come Dancing as her partner Aljaz Skorjanec appeared to confirm he had danced for the final time as a competitor.

The business guru and her dance partner Aljaz Skorjanec were sent home by all four judges after a dance off against Tilly Ramsay and Nikita Kuzmin.

After rumours that Skorjanec would be quitting Strictly this series following nine years on the show, he seemed to confirm it was true by saying: "I'm going to miss everything about this show."

Judge Anton Du Beke told Davies she was unlucky to be sent home after her Argentine Tango, but was taking part in the contest in a particularly strong year.

He said: "I think if you were ever choosing to do Strictly Come Dancing, this is the year to avoid. The standard is so high and either of these couples could have made it to the final any other year."

Ramsay found herself in the dance off for the second week in a row after also being saved by all four judges last week when Adam Peaty and Katya Jones were voted out.

Talking about her time on the show, Davies said: "I had no idea any of this was in me. It’s been a life changing experience and one I’ve loved every second of."

Skorjanec, now the longest-serving male pro in the cast since Du Beke moved to a judging role, appeared to confirm he had competed for the last time as he said: "I’m going to miss you so much. I’m going to miss dancing with you. I’m going to miss everything about this show. Thank you everyone and thank you for supporting us."

Oti Mabuse is also thought to be leaving the show this year after saying in an interview before the series began that she thought it would be her last and Skorjanec's wife, Janette Manrara, quit her dancing role on Strictly ahead of the current series to present spin-off show Strictly: It Takes Two instead.

The pro dancer, who has been based in the North East with Davies during the week for training, said: "You have been an absolute joy and a testament to hard work - not just on Strictly but with your business and you’re a beautiful mother.

"Thank you for letting me spend so much time not just with you, but with the whole family, the Davies that are here tonight, all of the little ones at home. I’ve been so welcomed up North, it made me feel like I’m back home in Slovenia because everyone is so lovely and friendly."

All of the other couples will be progressing to next week's musicals week where they will perform dances inspired by West End shows.

Tonight's results show opened with an emotional group dance inspired by Remembrance Sunday and also included a performance from James Blunt.
