The daughter of acclaimed film director Steven Speilberg has opened up about her ‘healing’ experience of working in the adult entertainment industry, describing her job as ‘life-affirming’.

The pair’s second adopted child, Mikaela largely avoided the public eye for much of her life, but catapulted into celebrity when she revealed her plans to pursue a career in porn earlier this year.

Just days later the adult actress was once again in the limelight after she was jailed over an allegation of domestic abuse against her former fiance Chuck Pankow, who is a professional darts player and 27 years older than Mikaela.

“I’m really enjoying work, and it’s giving me a whole new life-affirming way to be,” she told the site, adding her work may even have saved her life from a bad direction it was taking.

“I felt like had I not done the work I needed to do on myself, and on my relationships, I would have been dead within the year,” she said.

I was heartbroken, vulnerable, and felt like my soul had kind of been split in two. And I was covering that up with drinking... I am no longer like that.”

Mikaela makes what is described as ‘soft’ content from her home in Tennessee, videos she now sells on adult site ManyVids.

She has previously confirmed she is not looking to do ‘hardcore’ content.

When she first revealed her career plans, she was adamant that her choice was an ‘empowering’ one.

"This is a positive, empowering choice, I realised there is no shame in having a fascination with this industry and wanting to do something that is safe, sane, consensual," she told The Sun.

Mikaela broke the news to her parents via FaceTime, and says that whilst they were "intrigued" by her career choices, they weren't "upset".

"My safety has always been a number-one priority for them. I'm doing this, not out of an urge to hurt anybody or be spiteful about it, I'm doing this because I want to honour my body in a way that's lucrative,” she said.
