Stanley Tucci Met His Wife Through Emily Blunt—See Their Full Relationship Timeline
Oscar-nominated actor, author, and Instagram sensation Stanley Tucci and his wife, Felicity Blunt, have a love story for the ages. While the couple initially met at the 2006 premiere of The Devil Wears Prada, Tucci was still married to his first wife, Kate, who passed away in 2009. They reconnected years later at the wedding of Tucci's costar and Blunt's younger sister. The couple have now been together for over a decade and welcomed two children together.
So, who exactly is the woman who swept Tucci off his feet and offered him a second shot at love? Here’s everything you need to know about Stanley Tucci’s wife, Felicity Blunt, whose surname you may or may not recognize.
She is from England.
Born and raised in the suburbs of London, Felicity Blunt is the second of four children born to parents Joanna Mackie, an actress and English teacher, and Oliver Blunt, a barrister. While Blunt’s date of birth is not confirmed—some sites report 1980, while others say 1981 or 1982—we can assume the second since she and her famous husband, who was born in 1960, have a 21-year age gap.
Her sister is Emily Blunt.
Felicity is the older sister of award-winning actress Emily Blunt, who has held supporting and starring roles in many films such as The Devil Wears Prada, Into the Woods, and A Quiet Place, and Oppenheimer. Emily is married to The Office and Jack Ryan star John Krasinski, which makes him Felicity’s brother-in-law.
She is incredibly close with her sister.
Felicity and Emily have an unbreakable bond dating back decades. In a July 2023 interview with The Guardian, Felicity shared that the two “were fellow travellers through all the big moments—”including “new school, puberty, first boyfriends, no boyfriends, first jobs, no money, first hangovers”—and that she has “always been there.” Per the article, at Emily’s 40th birthday, Felicity made a heartfelt speech, exclaiming, “I wouldn’t know how to be me without you.
In the same interview, Felicity raved about her sister, gushing, “She works really hard. Her children and her husband are at the centre of everything. She’s a good friend. She’s a brilliant actress. She’s loving. She doesn’t have anything to prove [...]“I think she’s the best person I know.” Emily, meanwhile, described her older sister as “So devastatingly brilliant and funny. She continues to be such a vital presence in my life. A source of such comfort and ease.”
She doesn’t work in Hollywood.
Unlike her husband and sister, Felicity works outside Hollywood as a literary agent at the London-based Curtis Brown agency, a position she’s held since 2005. Since then, she’s represented a slew of both fiction and non-fiction authors. Before she was a literary agent, she first trained as a barrister, per her official bio.
She first met Stanley Tucci in 2006…but they didn’t reconnect until 2010.
Tucci and Blunt first met at the 2006 premiere of The Devils Wear Prada, in which her sister Emily stars in a supporting role alongside Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep. At the time, Tucci’s then-wife, Kate, had been undergoing treatment for breast cancer—and she actually conversed with Blunt at the premiere. "[Felicity] and Kate talked at the premiere that night and I have a photo of them together, which is so odd," Tucci told Marc Maron on the latter’s podcast back in 2021. Unfortunately, Kate passed away in 2009, and it wasn’t until four years later that Blunt and Tucci would cross paths again, this time at Emily’s wedding in Lake Como. Shortly after, the two started dating, and the rest is history.
Emily approves of her older sister’s A-lister husband. In 2022, she told PEOPLE, “He's an all-around Renaissance man who knows the way to everyone's hearts. And it's through having a damn good time.” Additionally, “He's frighteningly bright, quick to laugh, loves to be laughed at, charismatic, warm and energetic.
She is an author.
As a literary agent, Blunt is used to working behind the scenes; however, in 2014, she co-wrote a cookbook with Tucci, aptly titled The Tucci Table: Cooking With Family and Friends. The book is teeming with Italian-inspired, family-friendly recipes, including pasta, BBQ chicken wings, pork chops, and more.
She married Stanley Tucci in 2012.
Just two years after reconnecting at her sister’s wedding to Krazinski, Blunt and Tucci tied the knot in a private ceremony in the summer of 2012. A larger soiree was held in London that September, in which Emily served as a bridesmaid while Steve Buscemi served as Tucci’s best man. The nuptials were attended by celebrity guests such as Julianne Moore and Colin Firth. According to PEOPLE, Blunt reportedly wore a custom wedding dress by Nanette Lapore, and her husband donned a Hugo Boss tuxedo. Also, they allegedly served “cake” made of cheese wheels instead of traditional wedding cake.
She has a 21-year age gap with Stanley Tucci.
Initially, Tucci worried about his and Blunt’s age gap (the former is 21 years the latter’s senior). “I was afraid to get into a relationship and I kept trying to break it off,” he said during a July 2023 interview on BBC Radio 4's “Desert Island Discs.” He continued, "I'm 21 years older than she is and I didn't want to feel old for the rest of my life! But I knew that this was an incredibly special person.” In the same interview, he gushed that “Felicity has been so incredible taking on a widower and three children whose mother died,” before adding, "If anybody made things better for all of us, it’s her. She’s the one."
She is a mom.
Blunt and Tucci share two children together. Matteo Oliver Tucci, Blunt’s first child and Tucci’s fourth, was born on January 25, 2015. Three years late on April 19, 2018, the couple welcomed their second child together, daughter Emilia Giovanna Tucci. Blunt is also a step-mother to Tucci’s three children with his first wife, Kate.
She’s been by her husband’s side through it all—good and bad.
In 2021, Tucci revealed he had been diagnosed with oral cancer several years prior, having undergone chemotherapy and radiation. Despite this hardship, he told PEOPLE how fortunate he was to have Blunt by his side. "Felicity's undying attention, affection ,and encouragement got me through it," he said. Then, in 2023, he spoke further about his cancer journey on NBC's Sunday Sitdown with Willie Geist, crediting his wife and her famous sister with pulling him through. "I was so afraid, but Felicity was very insistent," he said. "I mean, they had to drag me, kicking and screaming, but now, I wouldn't be around if I hadn't done that [treatment]."
