Sports Illustrated model, 55, stuns in string bikini

Sports Illustrated has proven age really is just a number, showcasing a 55-year-old model in the brand’s search for the its next swimsuit superstar.

Kathy Jacobs⁣⁣ stunned followers through her pick as Wednesday’s candidate ahead of the famed magazine’s annual swimsuit edition.

Dressed in an electric blue triangle bikini, the American matched her stringed look with a smile as she threw both her hands above her silver hair.

And while she was quick to turn the heads of Sports Illustrated’s two million Instagram followers, Kathy was adamant her feature was part of a larger motivation message.

“I am doing this to be part of a change in the views on women over 50, not only by society, but by ourselves,” the post’s caption reads.

“Women over 50 need to stand together and realise how amazing, relevant, beautiful and sexy we all are. It’s time women of all ages unite and claim our power!

“Ageism impacts all of us, and women of all ages coming together and stopping it now helps prevent future generations from ever experiencing it!”

Commenters were quick to appreciate Kathy’s message of support, calling her head-turning look simply ‘groundbreaking’.

“Kathy gives effortless beauty and energy every time,” wrote one user. “The flyest hunny!”

“I literally [thought] that this was that ageing app on a younger person that’s how perfect she is,” added another.

“Let’s quash ageism and the belief that only the young are beautiful, desirable or marketable.”

However, this isn’t Kathy’s first soiree into the spotlight, as earlier this year she stunned as part of SI’s show at Miami Fashion Week, despite having decades on her runway counterparts.
