Spellbound Tweenage Witch Series Gets Season 2 Release Date on Hulu (Exclusive)

Cece Parker Jones is ready to work some more of her tween witch magic.

TVLine has learned exclusively that Season 2 of the supernatural coming-of-age drama Spellbound will release all 13 episodes on Hulu on Friday. Sept. 20.

The date reveal comes more than a year after the series was renewed. (Season 1 was released Stateside in two 13-episode batches, in August and November of last year.)

Produced by Cottonwood Media with ZDF, ZDF Studios and the Opéra national de Paris, Spellbound Season 1 introduced us to Cece Parker Jones (played by newcomer Hailey Romain), a vivacious 15-year-old who relocated from a small town in the U.S. to study at the Paris Opera Ballet School. Cece was at first on top of the world, but said world turned upside down when she discovered a book of family spells in the back room of her Aunt Ginger’s apothecary.

While snooping through the book, Cece unknowingly cast the antidote to a protection spell that had been concealing her true identity ever since she was a little girl. Turns out, she comes from a line of powerful witches called the Wizens. And in lifting the protection spell, Cece summoned her nemesis, the Mystics, who are out to steal her magic.

In Season 2, Cece starts her second year at the Paris Opera Ballet School with a vow to leave behind all magic so she can focus solely on dance. But as her Mystic side has been unlocked, secrets of the past are revealed, and she ends up on an adventure of self-discovery. And when she befriends a new student who is actually a Mystic, magical mayhem ensues.

Cece also develops a new crush, makes new friends and gets a surprise from a familiar face, when a BLOK hip-hop challenge ignites and bonds the second division.

The Spellbound Season 1 cast also included Margherita Barbieri as Simone, Abigail O’Regan as Mia, Etienne Moana as Benoit, Sam Darius as Jack Ryder and Zac Gabriel Werb as Finn.
