Should Snoop Dogg and Jeremy Beloate Win 'The Voice?'
Every once in a while there’s a performance on The Voice that is truly memorable and that happened for Team Snoop Dogg’s Jeremy Beloate during the Playoffs with his performance of Josh Groban's version of “The Impossible Dream (The Quest).”
Snoop had stolen the 25-year-old singer, who got four chairs to turn during the Blind Audtions, from Michael Bublé when Bublé eliminated him in favor of Sofronio Vasquez during the three-way Knockouts.
"I'm looking forward to finding the best record that can highlight his vocals," Snoop said at that time. "That way, he can have a big moment, a subtle moment ... something that can really get him over the top.”
“The Impossible Dream” wasn’t at all subtle, rather a big a moment that was so memorable it made an impression all the way across the pond to the U.K. where singer Tom Jones, who has hosted the U.K. version of The Voice for 14 years, took notice.

Jeremy had asked for clearance for Jones’ “I (Who Have Nothing),” which was granted for the semifinals, but Jones went a step further and posted on Instagram: “I love working with singers, I love finding new talent, it is a wonderful thing. Oh, and Jeremy I have been checking you out and I think you have a wonderful voice, inside a song you express yourself really well. If you had been on The Voice U.K. I would have turned for you myself.”

When Parade spoke to Jeremy, following the Top 8 performances, we asked him if he had seen the post.
“It was unreal,” Jeremy said. “I mean, listen, it speaks to our coach, he is just really going above and beyond and really trying to put us on the map. I’m just so honored to have been connected with him, he’s a legend and such an icon for me.”

The Top 8 semifinals was the first time that America weighed in on the Season 26 The Voice artists and Jeremy said he and Snoop took that into consideration when searching for just the right song.
“After [Playoffs] week, Snoop and I were like, ‘We want to find a good record, a huge record.’ I’ve always known this song, I knew it since I was a kid, and I wanted to wait until I was old enough to really do justice to do it. I sent it to him, and he was like, ‘I had never heard it,’ and he freaked out and was like, ‘Tom Jones is gangster on this, I love this,” and then we picked it. Snoop really helped me explore all of the dynamics of it, and it just ended up being literally such an honor to sing and to be a part of Tom Jones’ legacy.”
In the two-month break between filming the Playoffs and the beginning of the live shows, Jeremy went home and grew a moustache. It wasn’t something he did in honor of Movemeber, but just a return to a look he had for years, just not when he first filmed The Voice.

“I used to have a mustache for years, and when I came to the show I was like, ‘I’m going to shave it off and just see how I’m perceived,’” he says. “But going on my journey, going home and really taking care of myself, I was like, ‘You know what? I’m going to bring this back. I’m going to come back with a new look,’ and I feel confident in it.”
The confidence translated into a performance of “I (Who Have Nothing),” that landed Jeremy in the Top 5 along with Danny Joseph, Shye, Sofronio Vasquez and Sydney Sterlace, but will it be enough to win?
Jeremy may have my vote, but when it comes to singers who have Broadway-ready voices, they don’t usually win The Voice, but this season with new coaches like Snoop and Michael that could change. Still, if that should wind up being the end result, Jeremy feels even so the experience has been worthwhile.
“The Voice has changed my life forever,” he tells Parade. “It has helped me find my identity as an artist and as a human. They invest in you so much here, and they really make sure that you feel like you can succeed. I have grown so much working with Snoop Dogg, it’s just been life changing. I do feel like I have it made right now, this is my dream, I’ve always wanted to be on the show. I’ve auditioned for years and this just happened to be the time when God was like, ‘You go get it,’ so it’s an honor.”
The Voice finale performances air tonight at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC and then the reveal of the Season 26 winner will take place on Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Both episodes air next day on Peacock.
