Snoop Dogg Hints at Collaboration With Major Country Star
Snoop Dogg has always been an iconic entertainer but in 2024, he earned worldwide praise as America’s national treasure. From being a torchbearer and hilarious commentator at the 2024 Paris Olympics to joining the judges on The Voice, Snoop has had one heck of a year. And now, it’s about to get even more memorable!
On Thursday, October 17, the “Drop It Like It’s Hot” rapper appeared as a guest on TODAY and announced an exciting country collaboration he has in the works.
“Zach [Bryan] sent me a song,” he revealed while sitting on a couch with the show’s hosts. “I gotta put a verse on it.”
Snoop went on to share that he felt inspired to step out of his comfort zone to work with Zach on this song after seeing his recent interview with “The Boss, Bruce Springsteen.”
Zach sat down with Bruce in a new installment of Rolling Stone‘s Musicians on Musicians series. During the conversation, Zach praised Bruce’s musical versatility and expressed his desire to follow in his footsteps.
“I want to be a songwriter, and you’re quintessentially a songwriter,” Zach said. “No one calls Bruce Springsteen—hate to use your name in front of you—but no one calls Bruce Springsteen a freaking rock musician, which you are one, but you’re also an indie musician, you’re also a country musician. You’re all these things encapsulated in one man. And that’s what songwriting is.”
Now, Snoop hopes to genre hop, too. While details of his and Zach’s song are still under wraps, fans can’t contain their excitement.
“This collab is going to be epic! Snoop and Zach together? Can’t wait to hear that verse! Let’s go,” one TikTok user exclaimed in the TODAY video’s comments. “Need this ASAP,” someone else commented. “The collab we need,” another fan wrote.
