The author and activist has shared the cover of her new novel, Love After Midnight, exclusively with PEOPLE. The book is a follow-up to Souljah’s #1 New York Times bestselling novel, Life After Death, and will be published this fall by Atria Books.
Love After Midnight brings back a beloved character of Souljah’s — Winter Santiaga, who first appeared in the 1999 novel The Coldest Winter Ever, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. Readers first saw Winter, the wealthy daughter of a prominent drug-dealing family in Brooklyn, navigating a New York City snowstorm, relying on her knowledge and wit to get through, per the book's description.
Love After Midnight places Winter in the aftermath of a facedown with death. She is forced to reckon with her humanity as she pursues her desire for money, fame, love and revenge.
