Shoppers baffled by ‘naked bra’ trend

We’ve seen ridiculously high-waisted bikinis and swimsuits, and pants that are completely see through, but now a new trend has been sweeping the internet leaving shoppers lost for words.

Dubbed the ‘naked bra’, these stringy lingerie sets have been doing the rounds on Instagram, with many left scratching their heads as to how you would even put it on.

One online retailer Fashion Nova has particularly taken to selling the underwear pieces, sharing images of some of their designs on Instagram.

Sold for between $50-$60, there isn’t much material to the look, and very – very – little left to the imagination.

This particular look has gained almost 60,000 likes on Instagram, but some have also commented that they wouldn’t be able to pull off the risqué style.

“There is no way I could wear that, or wear it right the first time,” one person wrote.

“You may as well just not have anything one,” was another response.

“First off, there’s no way I would ever figure out how to put this on and I know for sure myself, and no man is gonna know how to take it off either,” another person shared on social media.

Others mused over the fact that they cost over $50 despite using hardly any material.

“I didn’t know pieces of strings could cost so much,” was one response.

Barely-there swimmers have also been controversial

A swimsuit by Sydney brand Black Swallow Boutique was ridiculed online back in January for its extreme high-cut bottom and low-cut side boob top.

The brand posted images of the design to their Instagram page where it copped a lot of flak from people who claim there’s no way they would be seen laying out on the beach in it.

Another Aussie brand – Beginning Boutique – was called out for its extreme high-cut bikini bottoms, which instantly sent fans into a frenzy.

The high waist style bottoms retail for $49.95, but some followers felt wearing the swimwear would lead to the risk of revealing a lot more than most women would want.

And there was also a high-waisted bodysuit (which you would normally wear with a skirt or pants) that went viral, with women online losing it over how uncomfortable and impractical it looked.
