AFL WAG Brooke Cotchin has revealed the shock reason she switched her baby son’s name, three days after he was born.

The mother-of-three, who’s married to Richmond captain Trent, made the admission to The Herald Sun, three weeks after her son’s birth.

Big decision

Although little Parker Foxx has now settled into family life after an abrupt entry via emergency caesarean, things weren’t always so solidified.

In fact, for the first few days of his life, the tot was known by a completely different moniker before the family used an unusual method to determine their final choice.

“We had named him Becker the night before and everyone said he’ll get called Boris,” Brooke told the publication, referencing the tennis legend.

“So we had a voting system in the hospital and everyone had to vote.”

Ultimately the Cotchin’s extended family used their influence to get Parker over the line, after Brooke revealed her extended hospital stay allowed for ‘lots of bonding time’.

Important delivery

Days before revealing her son’s quirky name story, Brooke opened up about his at times dramatic birth.

“My obstetrician walked in to the delivery suite and looked at the heart rate readings and said we needed to get this baby out ASAP,” she wrote on Instagram.

“Everything happened very quickly and we are extremely grateful and thankful that we were able to welcome a healthy little man in to the world.”

Parker joined the Cotchin’s daughters - Harper, four, and three-year-old Mackenzie - and according to his proud mum, “completed [their] little family”.
