The Block hosts Scott Cam and Shelley Craft may walk away from the popular program if pay negotiations fall through.

The duo, who have fronted the series since 2010, are reportedly joining forces in a bid to supersize their contracts ahead of subsequent seasons, reports New Idea.

Knowing their worth

Talks are said to have been spurred on by Channel 9 shelling out more than $15 million for the latest renovation property, leaving Scott and Shelley wanting a bigger piece of the pie.

“That amount made Scott and Shelley sit up and notice, and start negotiations for 2021,” a source told the publication.

“They are two of the smartest hosts in the business when it comes to contracts and dollars and timing their chats with the network.”

Yahoo Lifestyle has contact Channel Nine for comment.

Now, the pair have set their financial sights on the 2021 season, and strategically waited until next year’s audition call outs went out to make the move.

With The Block’s ratings riding higher than ever, the pair have a definite leg to stand on but may have to tread carefully given how the recent Masterchef switch-up played out.

Matt Preston, George Calombaris and Gary Mehigan famously left the show in July after 11 years, after their reported request of a 40 per cent pay increase was denied by Network 10.
