Sharon Stone Divides the Internet After Issuing Strong Political Message About 'Uneducated' Americans

Sharon Stone made some potentially polarizing comments about the current political climate in America recently, but many fans on social media are agreeing with her.

In a video posted to YouTube on Sunday, Nov. 25, the actress shared her opinion on the 2024 presidential election during a panel discussion at the Torino Film Festival in Italy.

"We have to stop and think about who we choose for government and if, in fact, we are actually choosing our government or if the government is choosing itself," she said, adding, "You know, Italy has seen fascism. Italy has seen these things, you guys. And you understand what happens. You have seen this before."

As Stone explained it, "My country is in the midst of adolescence. Adolescence is very arrogant. Adolescence thinks it knows everything. Adolescence is naive and ignorant and arrogant. And we are in our ignorant, arrogant adolescence."

"Americans who don't travel, who 80% don't have a passport, who are uneducated, are in their extraordinary naïveté," she continued. "What I would say is that the only way that we can help with these issues is to help each other."

On X, many fans expressed similar sentiments.

"She’s not actually wrong," wrote one person.

"Sharon Stone telling it just like it is, no candy coating!" agreed someone else.

"America is in the adolescent stage. Great insight!" another X user chimed in, with a fourth commenter saying Stone was "right, sadly."

Not everyone was on the same page, however—and some questioned what authority Stone had on the topic in the first place.

"Bro, we still listening to the opinions of bourgeoisie celebrities?" a commenter wanted to know.

"That’s what the elites think of working class Americans," declared another person.

Others pointed out that economic barriers make it difficult for many Americans to travel or access certain levels of education.

"Well, make education and travel more affordable," suggested somebody.
