Uploading a photo from his hospital bed to Instagram on Thursday, Nov. 28, Ohanian shared that he recently had half of his thyroid surgically removed after tracking "some suspicious nodules" over the last four years.

"The nodules were getting bigger & the latest biopsy revealed they’d very likely turn cancerous," the 41-year-old entrepreneur wrote in his caption. "My mom had breast cancer around this age (41) and then ultimately died from brain cancer a decade or so later. I hate cancer."

While sharing that the surgery was "smooth," Ohanian said he is "extra grateful this Thanksgiving" after receiving a call to let him know that the removed half of his thyroid "was indeed full of some gnarly nodules that were very likely to become cancerous."

"The worst part tbh has been not being able to lift for 2 weeks but big fella will be back at it next week and I took my girls to Disney World this week so life is wonderful," he said, referring to the two daughters he shares with the tennis champion: Alexis Olympia Ohanian, 6, and Adira River Ohanian, 15 months.

The dad of two also shared photos from the Disney trip in his post, while encouraging his followers to prioritize their own preventative health measures, so they, too, can enjoy special moments with their families.

"To my fellow, men—make those doctors appointments—especially if y'all are dads," he wrote, before concluding the post, "Happy Thanksgiving, everyone."
