Who are the Selling Sunset realtors? From Mary Fitzgerald to Chrishell Stause
While Netflix is home to some world-class drama, it also serves up some top-notch reality TV, with several of its fly-on-the-wall series becoming global phenomena.
One of the platform’s most-talked-about shows is the glamorous Selling Sunset, which follows the lives of a group of highly preened and polished realtors of the Oppenheim Group selling multimillion-pound properties in Los Angeles.
The property show, which is returning for a sixth season, has won fans across the world for its no-holds-barred access behind the velvet curtain of luxury living, banal dramas sharply edited to Kardashian levels of artifice and the catfighting and collaborative efforts of the realtors themselves.
So just who is who in this hate-to-love, love-to-hate series? Here’s the lowdown on the stars of the show.
The 34-year-old is arguably the viewers’ favourite out of the realtors at the Oppenheim Group, due to her upfront and direct manner. Unfortunately, she won’t return for season six, having stood up Jason Oppenheim and Mary Fitzgerald towards the end of season five.
Having initially forged a career in fashion and entertainment when she was younger (even gracing the pages of Vogue at one point), Quinn entered the cut-throat world of real estate after travelling across the globe during a sabbatical.
She married Christian Richard in 2019, a businessman wh is worth $20 million. They had a baby in May 2020.
On the show, Quinn was best known for her confrontational demeanour and her feud with fellow realtor Chrishell Stause. While others pulled Quinn up on her “toxic energy”, Quinn argued she’s just “being authentic”.
In 2021, Quinn appeared on the cover of Vogue and, earlier this year, was unveiled as the scorpion on the Masked Singer.
The 41-year-old became a household name in the States before Selling Sunset as a daytime television actress, starring in Days of Our Lives, All My Children and Mistresses.
Having previously been engaged to Glee star Matthew Morrison, Stause married Smallville actor Justin Hartley in 2017, three years after they started dating. She later dated real estate boss Jason Oppenheim.
Earlier this year, Stause married Australian singer G Flip, whom she began dating in March last year.
“I know people think I’m having a midlife crisis,” Chrishell says in the trailer for season six, “but I’m having an awakening.”
The 42-year-old has been in real estate for over a decade, having also sold luxury flats in New York and London.
The dog-loving realtor, who is now to married her Selling Sunset co-star and French model Romain Bonnet, has also had history with boss Jason Oppenheim and the two chose to continue to share their dogs.
Fitzgerald is hugely successful as a realtor and very career driven; even managing to sell a property on the day of her wedding.
One of the viewer favourites of the show, Vander comes from a well-travelled background, having grown up in Israel, Singapore and Spain before settling in Los Angeles more than 20 years ago.
The no-nonsense realtor juggled selling properties with the Oppenheim Group and Douglas Elliman Real Estate in Miami but at the end of season five revealed that she would be living in Miami full-time.
She now has three children, giving birth to the youngest earlier this month.
Heather Rae El Moussa
The 35-year-old already had an impressive career in entertainment before entering real estate, having spent most of her twenties as a model.
As well as being a Playboy Playmate, winning the title of Miss February in 2010, Young also starred in a number of films and television programmes including The Malibu Tapes and Comedy! Bang! Bang!
She married her boyfriend TV presenter Tarek El Moussa in 2021, and the couple had a baby boy in January.
Joining the show in series two, the 46-year-old was introduced to the world of real estate after working for years as an interior designer.
Her natural eye for home style came from her own background, which she talks about in the show.
“It’s a natural talent that I’ve always had, and it came from growing up really poor,” she said. “I lived in a trailer. I would get, like, one can of paint a year, and I would paint everything in my room, from the bunk beds to the dresser to the accessories.
“I got really creative. I became a DIY master at a very young age.”
Smith, who was previously married to NFL player Ralph Brown (meeting him when she was an NFL cheerleader) also wanted to move into the lucrative property business to help support her children.
Her close friendships with Mary Fitzgerald and Oppenheim twins Jason and Brett are also part of the series.
Christine Quinn’s new best friend in season two, Potratz was introduced to viewers with the immortal line: “Davina is the only one without fake boobs so she must be the realest of the Oppenheim Group bunch.”
Born and raised in Germany, Potratz previously worked as a model before being drawn into the world of real estate.
Talking to Voyage LA, Davina said: "After high school, I decided to attend Pepperdine University in Malibu where I studied advertising.
"In many of my graphic design classes I would create real estate magazine covers but to get the images, I would drive around Malibu and door knock asking homeowners if I could photograph their property.
"To my fortune, many delighted at the idea so I got great images to work with on my assignments.
"Seeing these incredible homes led to a passion and fascination with real estate."
Emma Hernan, 31, joined the Oppenheim Group in 2018 and Selling Sunset in season four, citing her love of real estate as what led her to become a real estate agent.
Originally from Boston, Emma is an entrepreneur and the CEO of her own food company, Emma-Leigh & Co. She also worked as a model and, according to her profile on the Oppenheim Group website, is a self-made millionaire.
In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Hernan revealed that we will see a little of her dating life in the new season.
“So I open up my whole life, including my personal life to the show,” she said, “You’ll be able to tune in and see.”
Chelsea Lazkani, 30, is one of the newst additions to Selling Sunset, joining the show in season five.
Londoner Chelsea became inspired to enter the world of real estate by her father, Segun Adefioye, who is an architect and property developer.
Chelsea began working in real estate in LA in 2017 before joining the Oppenheim Group in 2021.
Season five offered an insight into Chelsea’s close friendship with controversial figure Christine Quinn, which caused friction within the group. But now Christine has left the show, Chelsea will get her own chance to shine.
She married to Jeff Lazkani and has two children, Maddox and Melia.
Bre Tiesi, 32, is a California native and has joined Selling Sunset for season six.
When it was revealed that Bre would be joining the show in 2022, she told People Magazine: “I’m a whole personality. “For anyone that’s followed me, they know I’m a hate it or love it kind of gal. I’m definitely bringing my full personality. It’s gonna be a whole show, from fashion to drama.”
She was previously married to American football quarterback Johnny Manziel and has a baby with TV host Nick Cannon.
Nicole Young, 38, is the second estate agent joining the show this season. Despite being new to the show, Young has been working for the Oppenheim Group since 2014.
She has previously appeared on Selling Sunset, although only very briefly.
When it was revealed that she would be joining the show as a full-time cast member, she said on Instagram: “The cat’s out of the bag ya’ll! I’m so excited to be joining the cast and my longtime friends and The Oppenheim Group co-workers on Selling Sunset!!! Let’s do this.”
Originally from Minneapolis, she moved to LA in 2007. She married Brandon Young, in 2017.
