Yahoo Lifestyle Selena Gomez Opened Up About Being Single And Her Requirements In A Partner
Selena Gomez is single and loving every minute of it!
In a recent interview on SiriusXM Hits 1 LA, the singer said everybody goes through the stage of "it'd be nice to have someone."
"But you know, I’m just enjoying where I’m at. And I just want to be happy with who I am so that whenever that person comes into my life, I can just have them add on to me, instead of being this insecure person that I normally used to be."
She explained that her new song, "Single Soon," is her way of saying "it's totally okay being on your own, and it's fun."
The 31-year-old also shared her requirements in a partner.
"I have standards, and I think I live in a world right now where boys confuse standards with high maintenance... I'm not ashamed to say I require X, Y, and Z for you to be with me."
"You gotta be cool, man. Not cool in the sense that people think you’re cool. You just gotta be nice, and please make me laugh, and also just be good to my family and people around you."
When radio host Tony Fly said this is a way for Selena to tell her fans they don't need to worry about her anymore, she agreed, replying, "Yeah, actually, that’s a really sweet way of putting it."
"I’m so grateful that people have listened to my journey and hopefully related to it and understood that I was just trying to show everyone that I wasn’t in a good place. I just wanted freedom from all of that negativity."
"And once I released it, it feels so much better. I mean, I have new problems, but now I can figure them out on my own," she concluded.
