See the Subtle Way Kelly Clarkson Threw Shade at Her Ex-Husband
Kelly Clarkson may not be the official queen of Christmas (that title is taken by Mariah Carey, sorry!!), but she may just be the queen of petty—and I mean that in the best possible way. On December 18, Kelly dropped the official visualizer video for her new holiday album, When Christmas Comes Around…Again, and in it, she throws some not-so-subtle shade at her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock.
Let me set the scene: a Christmas tree, a yule log burning in the fire, and four stockings hanging from the mantle, including one for Kelly, one for her daughter River, one for her son Remy...and a stocking with a big ol' "NOPE," presumably reserved for her ex. Well played, Kelly.
The talk show host first announced she was divorcing her husband of seven years back in 2020—and as a reminder, the relationship did not! end! well! But at least Kelly was able to finally stop paying her ex spousal support earlier this year (which she'd been ordered to pay on top of a giant one-time sum of just over $1.3 million).
“Kelly is feeling relieved that her spousal support to Brandon has come to an end,” a source told Us Weekly back in January. “She’s been ready for this for a while now and is so happy her payments to Brandon will be complete. It’s so nice knowing that this chapter of her life can close with the new year.”
Welp, she may have gotten a clean slate to start 2024, but I don't blame her for ending the year with just a liiiittle bit of shade.
Side note: Will have When Christmas Comes Around…Again until 2025.
