For nearly 20 years, Chicago's Riot Fest has been pairing huge names in rock, punk, metal, and hip-hop together with fresh young acts from across the globe to create a fully immersive experience. This year's festival grounds added RiotLand, giving attendees a chance to break from the head-rattling five stages and enjoy a carnival-like experience of rides, nostalgia-inducing food vendors, interactive activations, pro wrestling, and circus acts. Even amid all that, the music was center stage at Douglass Park.

Highlights included Nashville rockers Winona Fighter, indie darling St. Vincent, Windy City favorites Fall Out Boy, hip-hop legends Public Enemy, and punk stalwarts NOFX, with fans braving rain on Sunday to watch Slayer close out the festival with a set full of classic metal hits and wild pyrotechnics.
