The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Renewed at Hulu for 20 More Episodes
Hulu knows how to keep a secret (on the air): The streamer has renewed the hit reality series The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives for an additional 20 episodes, TVLine has learned, with the first installment set to debut next spring.
The series follows a tight-knit group of Mormon wives and mothers who became social media stars with their viral #MomTok videos on TikTok. Season 1’s drama revolved around the revelation that Taylor’s previous marriage broke up amid accusations of “soft swinging,” a controversial trip to see Chippendales in Las Vegas that sent Jen’s marriage to the brink and Taylor’s volatile relationship with new boyfriend Dakota, with her investigating cheating rumors about him — all while being pregnant with his child. The eight-episode Season 1, which debuted in September, racked up 410 million minutes viewed in its first week of release, ranking at No. 7 on Nielsen’s U.S. ranking of streaming originals. Pre-production on Season 2 is already underway, our sister site Deadline reports, and filming is set to begin soon. It’s fair to wonder, though, if all of the wives will be back next season, given the group’s ongoing tensions with Whitney, who had spats with various members of the #MomTok collective before cutting ties by (gasp!) dramatically leaving the group text. No casting details for Season 2 have been released yet.
