Sebastian Stan Makes a Bold Declaration About Donald Trump After 'The Apprentice' Biopic
After former president Donald Trump lashed out about the new biopic The Apprentice, Sebastian Stan—who plays Trump in the film—is calling out the Republican presidential nominee for his "hypocritical" attempts to censor the movie.
The Captain America: The Winter Soldier actor spoke to The Hollywood Reporter at the BFI London Film Festival premiere of The Apprentice, which follows Trump's career in New York during the '70s and '80s.
Asked whether or not he thought the film would sway voters, Stan said he didn't know—but he hoped it would make an impact.

“I don’t know, but what I do hope is that people, regardless of their opinion, are curious enough to try to dig deeper," Stan said. "Because I think we’re living in a world where it’s so easy to be handed an opinion everywhere you turn. And I know a lot of people love social media, and that’s where they go for information and for things. You’re being told what to think. You’re being told what to do.”

The Pam and Tommy star, 42, continued, saying, “If you have any inkling of interest, go and really ask yourself: ‘Who is this man? Do you really know? Do you really trust this person to lead a country?’"
That's when Stan made his bold statement about Trump, 78.
"He’s been trying to censor this movie, and at the same time, he claims that he acknowledges free speech," Stan pointed out. "...I can’t think of anything more hypocritical."
"So at the end of the day, it’s about him as a character," he added. "Forget the politics and just go in there and use your instinct and ask yourself: Do you trust this man? That’s what the movie is about.”
Trump took to Truth Social to slam The Apprentice on Monday, Oct. 14.
“A FAKE and CLASSLESS Movie written about me, called, The Apprentice (Do they even have the right to use that name without approval?), will hopefully 'bomb,'" he wrote. "It’s a cheap, defamatory and politically disgusting hatchet job, put out right before the 2024 Presidential Election, to try and hurt the Greatest Political Movement in the History of our Country."
