This Sci-Fi Thriller Is The Top Movie On Netflix Right Now

“Subservience” is currently the most popular movie on Netflix, according to the platform’s public ranking system.

The sci-fi thriller joined the streaming service on Dec. 5, about three months after its initial release on Sept. 13. Megan Fox stars as a lifelike artificially intelligent android purchased by a struggling father to help with domestic tasks at home.

Although “Subservience” received mixed review from critics, director S.K. Dale has expressed interest in making a sequel.

“Fly Me to the Moon”

The most popular movie on Apple TV+ right now is “Fly Me to the Moon.” The romantic comedy drama made its streaming debut on the platform on Dec. 6 following a theatrical release in July.

Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum star as a late-1960s marketing specialist and NASA launch director tasked with preparing a fake moon landing to air if the Apollo mission fails. Woody Harrelson and Ray Romano also appear in the film.

“Jack in Time for Christmas”

“Jack in Time for Christmas” premiered on Amazon Prime Video on Dec. 3.

The British Christmas comedy special stars Jack Whitehall as himself and tells a story in which he’s stranded in the U.S. but trying to get home to the U.K. for the holidays. To make it back in time, he enlists the help of celebrities including Jimmy Fallon, Rebel Wilson, Michael Bublé and Dave Bautista.

“Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story”

The documentary “Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story” joined Max on Dec. 7.

As the title suggests, the film examines the life, career and activism of “Superman” actor Christopher Reeve, who became an advocate for disability rights after an equestrian accident left him paralyzed from the neck down. The movie premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival in January and was released in theaters in September and October.

“Dead Sea”

“Dead Sea” is now trending on Hulu. Formerly called “Flycatcher,” the crime horror film had a limited theatrical release in July.

The movie follows three young friends who become stranded at sea following a jet ski accident. When they are rescued by a fishing vessel, however, they fall into an even more dangerous situation.
