Sarah Michelle Gellar's latest red carpet look is a major blast from the past.

On Wednesday, Gellar—known as one of the It girls of the '90s and early 2000s—went from scream queen to prom queen while attending the New York City premiere of her new TV show Dexter: Original Sin in an dress that would make her I Know What You Did Last Summer character Helen Shivers so proud.

For the occasion, the actress wore a butter yellow halter-neck gown from designer Cong Tri that featured layers upon layers of ruffles and so many sequins. She accessorized with a satin champagne-colored clutch with a crystal-encrusted bow handle and a pair of dangling diamond earrings. Gellar pulled her blonde waves into a low-slung ponytail and finished off her glam with rosy cheeks and a pink lip.

The whole look was giving Y2K prom in the best way possible.

Speaking of Gellar's beauty queen character Shivers, there's already an I Know What You Did Last Summer reboot in the works. And while Gellar might not be reprising role (spoiler: Helen is dead), her husband, Freddie Prinze Jr., is confirmed to be involved in the project.

"Oh, it's so good," Gellar said of the reboot at last night's premiere during an interview with Extra on the red carpet. "Again, there are so many great stories and the way to honor them is to extend that universe. Jennifer Kaytin Robinson has put together an incredible cast and the script is so much fun.
