Is this the biggest sign yet Fergie and Prince Andrew are back together?

They divorced 22 years ago, but after months of rumours swirling that a reconciliation between Fergie and Prince Andrew is on the cards, their latest appearance at Royal Ascot together may be the biggest indicator yet that things are heating up between the pair.

The 59-year-old Duchess of York, who ended her marriage to 59-year-old Prince Andrew in 1996, was seen mingling with the Queen at the horse racing event - something she hasn’t done in years.

According to The Express, "Andrew took his ex-wife in to chat briefly to the queen” and Fergie “gave one of her legendary deep curtseys”.

Fergie was even spotted in the royal box at Ascot, where she would have no doubt been chatting up a storm with other royals, such as Zara Tindall and Autumn Phillips.

Prince Andrew and Fergie – who have daughters Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice together – ended their marriage in 1996 but continue to share a home at the Royal Lodge in Windsor.

However, while Prince Andrew may have still held a soft spot for his ex-wife over all these years, it’s believed the Queen and Prince Philip were furious with her, especially after she was involved in a string of scandals after the divorce.

Fergie’s scandalous royal life

One such scandal was the release of a photograph which showed her toe appearing to be sucked by Texas financial advisor, John Bryan, while she was wearing a bikini and lounging in a deck chair.

She was also accused of offering a publication access to Prince Andrew in return for $875,000 in 2010.

Indeed, the royal family are said to have been so put out by Fergie’s actions that she wasn’t even invited to Prince William’s wedding in 2011.

However, it’s believed Prince Harry put his foot down in 2018 and Fergie was seen happily waving at fans when she arrived at his May 19th wedding to Meghan Markle at Windsor Castle.

Remarriage?

A recent Instagram post from the former Duchess of York had fans hearing wedding bells as they speculated about a possible remarriage to come.

Sarah Ferguson took to social media to share a snap of herself posing with a bridal gown, and fans weren’t able to help themselves, daringly wondering if Fergie and Prince Andrew may be headed back down the aisle.

On closer inspection, the post was clearly linked to a charity organisation, which the former Duchess praises lavishly.

Rumours of a reconciliation between Fergie and Prince Andrew have been swirling for some months, after she described her ex in the most loving terms last year.

“We both say it. We are completely compatible. Our bywords are communication, compromise and compassion,” she told the Daily Mail.

“[Our wedding on] July 23, 1986 was the happiest day of my life. Andrew is the best man I know. What he does for Britain is incredible; no one knows how hard he works for his country.”

It’s also been said that the one thing that used to come between them – his dad Prince Philip’s disdain – has also faded with time.

The pair still live together, and Fergie has said: “Now our life together is the greatest ever.”

“This is our fairytale, and we’re telling it our way,” she told Modern Hero.
