She’s the controversial member of the Markle family who has taken every opportunity to call out her half-sister in public, and now Samantha Markle has blasted the Duchess of Sussex again.
The 53-year-old launched a scathing attack on Meghan following the Sussexes’ announcement that they’re quitting their roles as senior royals, with Samantha claiming Meghan “knew very clearly what she was getting herself into”.
Appearing on Sunrise, Samantha told Kochie and Samantha Armytage that the bombshell news actually wasn’t that much of a surprise to her.
“Progressively as I saw royal protocol broken and the rift between the royals – especially Harry and William – increase I thought you know there’s something going on here that contradicts the definition of humanitarian and diplomat,” Samantha said.
“I see a divisiveness, I see selfishness and I thought: ‘Why isn’t she working harder to bridge the gap with our family and with the royals?’”
Meghan Markle and her half-sister Samantha haven’t spoken for the past ten years.
Samantha has publicly called her a “self-obsessed” social climber and is said to be in the process of writing a book titled In the Shadows of the Duchess – a follow-up to her previous memoir, The Diary of Princess Pushy.
Meghan also fell out with her father, Thomas Markle, after he was caught setting up paparazzi photos just before the Sussexes May 19th wedding in 2018.
Since then, Thomas has appeared on numerous TV shows begging the Duchess to let him back into her life.
However, it’s thought Meghan was deeply hurt when her father released private letters she sent him back in August 2018.
In the letters, Meghan begged her father to stop ‘victimising’ her in public.
“Dad, I’m so heartbroken, I love you,” Meghan started the letter, which was published by the Mail on Sunday.
“I have one father. Please stop victimising me through the media so we can repair our relationship.”
In the letter, the Duchess spoke about her heartbreak at her dad and half-sister, Samantha Markle, exploiting her relationship for their personal gain.
“On a daily basis you fixated and clicked on the lies they were writing about me, especially those manufactured by your other daughter, who I barely know,” Meghan wrote in the letter, which was seen by the Daily Mail.
“You watched me silently suffer at the hands of your vicious lies. I crumbled inside.”
The former Suits actress went on to say that her heart was crushed ’into a million pieces’ by her father’s public interviews.
