"Someone like Mark Wahlberg definitely motivates you," the fitness instructor said.

"As long as I don't get to the Will Ferrell stage. I don't ever want to get to that end of the spectrum," he then laughed.

Sam, who welcomed baby daughter Willow with fiancee Snezana Markoski back in October, is now dedicating the next year to getting his body in fine form.

"There will be a time in the next twelve months where I will want to tighten things up a little bit and have a real crack at getting back in shape," he told Be.

"As long as I stay closer to the Mark Wahlberg spectrum I'm doing okay."

The 28 By Sam Wood founder also shared his tips on how to juggle parenting, work and fitness.

"Time management is the key to success," the fitness guru admitted.

"It's also a lot healthier to loose with weight slower rather than quickly."

"The beauty of my workouts is that you can do it in the comfort of your own home," he said, emphasising the important of face-time with his family.

"That's been the saving grace for Snez and I, you really shouldn't rush yourself to loose the weight too quickly, doing it slower is healthier."

"The first six months have been all about Willow, he revealed. "But we have been watching what we eat and walking the dog to stay relatively in shape."

"Definitely don't want to blow out and get a full dad bod in the process though," he joked.

Sam also shared some adivce to new parents who are coming home with their baby for the first time.

"Spend as much time with your baby as you can," he said.

"Every day, every week something changes, and you just don't want to miss those special moments."
