The two have been next-door neighbors for years.

Ryan Reynolds probably won't be going over to his neighbor Martha Stewart's house for a cup of sugar anytime soon. During an appearance on Bilt Rewards' Rent Free game show this week, Stewart revealed that Reynolds, who is known for his comedic roles, is "not so funny" in real life—and the actor clapped back.

When asked by Bilt CEO and founder Ankur Jain which celebrities she thought respondents had named as the most fun to hang out with, Stewart reluctantly listed Reynolds. “He’s probably on the list just ‘cause he covers himself up in his movies and you don’t see his face—Ryan Reynolds, is he one of those?” she asked, before adding, “And you want to know something? He’s not so funny in real life. No, he’s not so funny. He’s very serious.”

After revealing that she "would take Ryan off [the list] and put in somebody else," Stewart continued, “He’s a good actor. He can act funny, but he isn’t funny. Maybe he can get to be funny again.”

“I’m going to get in trouble,” she playfully noted. “He’s my neighbor.”

Reynolds, for his part, got the last laugh with his response to Stewart's viral comments on social media. "I'd disagree with her. But I tried that once. The woman is unexpectedly spry, " he jokingly wrote on X. "She really closed the gap after a mile or so."

Stewart first became friendly with Reynolds and his wife, Blake Lively, after the couple bought a $2 million home in Bedford, New York near the lifestyle guru's 153-acre farm in 2012. They've since moved, but still live close to Stewart.
