You can now hire a rescue dog for a hike in LA

For Aussies planning their next adventure to the City of Angels, you can now take a guided hike up the Hollywood Hills with a jovial pack of rescue dogs - for rent!

The Original Rescue Dog Hike, created by Free Animal Doctor cofounder Ryan Boyd, is taking hikers up Runyon Canyon while exercising and socialising their dogs in need.

Alongside a spectacular view of the Hollywood sign, hikers will help The Original Rescue Dog Hike take photos of dogs to help publicise their cases. The snaps will also be used to help bring in donations for the pups' care and generate adoption interest.

All payments for the experience are donated to the Animal Welfare Non-Profit, helping pay for the care of the very dogs that hikers will be walking.

The experience can be booked through Airbnb online for $45 per person.
