The royal wedding blunder everyone missed

The wedding of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank appeared to be totally smooth-sailing.

With an array of royal guests – including Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex – and many celebrity guests in attendance, Eugenie certainly pulled out all the stops to ensure her day was glamorous and the wedding everyone wanted to attend.

However, in the midst of all the romance there was a slight blunder and it seems to have been missed by many.

During the exchanging of vows, Jack went to place a gold band on his bride’s finger, but the ring was either slightly too small, or the businessman had a case of the jitters.

In the video above, the 32-year-old is seen struggling to get the ring on Eugenie’s finger.

Eventually, the royal lended a helping hand to the groom to give the ring a final nudge onto her finger.

Luckily Jack saw the humour in the situation, making a funny face and Eugenie also appeared to let out a slight giggle.

The couple got through the rest of the ceremony unscathed and shared a romantic kiss on the steps of St. George’s Chapel as they began their lives as husband and wife together.

Who is Princess Eugenie?

Princess Eugenie Victoria Helena of York is the youngest daughter of Prince Andrew, Duke of York, the Queen’s second youngest child, and Sarah Ferguson.

Eugenie was born on 23 March 1990, at Portland Hospital in London and she was the first royal baby to have a public christening at St Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham.

Where does Eugenie work?

Neither Eugenie or her sister Beatrice carry out any public duties, but the pair have represented the Queen on a couple of occasions.

Eugenie is now a director at Mayfair art dealers, Hauser and Wirth, where she works full time.

Prior to that, the Princess worked for online auction house Paddle8 in New York City, where she was based from 2013.

Jack proposed to Princess Eugenie at the beginning of 2018 during a holiday in Nicaragua. Her engagement ring features a pink padparadscha sapphire surrounded by smaller diamonds on a yellow gold band.

The couple met when she was 20, during a skiing holiday in Verbier. They have been dating since and during their engagement interview with The One Show, the pair said “it was love at first sight.”

She and wine merchant Jack reportedly live in Ivy Cottage, a three-bedroom house in the grounds of Kensington Palace and count the Duke and Duchess of Sussex as neighbours.

How much is Eugenie worth?

Her net worth is said to be approximately $6.5million AUD, but most of that is family money and held in a trust.

What is her fiance Jack Brooksbank’s net worth?

While he was technically born a commoner, Jack has royal baronets in his lineage and is even a distant relative of Eugenie’s.

He also has a Hollywood connection as the UK ambassador for George Clooney’s tequila brand Casamigos.

As a private citizen, it’s unclear exactly what Jack’s net worth currently is, but it’s believed to be significantly less than his bride’s. He does however, come from a wealthy background and graduated from Stowe School in Buckinghamshire, that charges pupils $22,000 AUD per term.
