Royal fans shocked amid major Kate Middleton snub: 'Disrespectful omission'
A post about female members of the royal family has been slammed as it doesn't feature Kate Middleton and Princess Diana.
Royal fans were left shocked after Kate Middleton was excluded from a post shared by the royal family to celebrate International Women's Day. The post, which was shared to Instagram, featured photos of several female members of the family over the years taken by female photographers, but Kate was notably absent.
"Today, on #InternationalWomensDay, we are showcasing the Royal Family’s longstanding support for female photographers which stretches back as far as the advent of photography in the mid-1800s," the post read. "From Frances Sally Day’s photographs of Queen Victoria in the 1850s, to Dorothy Wilding’s portraits of a young Queen Elizabeth II in 1952, and Nigerian photographer Christina Ebenezer’s recent portraits of The Duchess of Edinburgh, female photographers have captured members of the Royal Family in their own unique ways since the artform began."
They shared portraits of Queen Elizabeth II, Queen Camilla, Queen Victoria, Princess Anne, Queen Alexandra and The Duchess of Edinburgh.

Royal fans quickly noticed that the Princess of Wales wasn't featured, with one user writing, "You’re missing The Princess of Wales, both of them."
"With all respect, I think the Princess of Wales should have been included in this list. She is both a great photographer and has been pictured by women too, like @milliepilkingtonphotography," another said.
"And Catherine?!!!! With all respect, that was a very disrespectful omission," a third said.
"Where is HRH Catherine, Princess of Wales?" someone said. "One of the most popular and influential members of the Royal Family, and one of the members of the future of the Monarch. It's insulting at its worst."
"Not the mother of the future king? No respect," another said of Princess Diana.
"You had one job... ONE... 🤦♀️," one royal fan said bluntly.
Why was Kate Middleton excluded from royal IWD post?
Some pointed out that there might not be any portraits of Kate taken solo by a female photographer.
"To everyone commenting and complaining about the Princess of Wales: This post is not about female members of the Royal Family but about female photographers who photographed them," one person said. "And yes, the Princess of Wales has also been photographed by female photographers, but it might also be because the Royal Family's account in general doesn't cover the (Prince and) Princess of Wales, because they have their own account."
